⼤阪・関⻄万博において、キュレーター 南條史⽣氏の「ART for EXPO 2025」プロジェクトで、アメリカ館とフランス館の間の屋外空間〈光の広場〉に配置されるパブリックアートを設計した。2024年に甚⼤な被害をもたらした能登半島地震の復興への祈りを込めて、「⼿と⼿を合わせる」、「地球」を想起させるアートを、同じく⾦沢市を拠点とするステンレス（株）の⽀援のもと制作。高さ2.4m、直径2m、重量3tのパブリックアートは、厚み3mmのアルミニウム金属板が世界の国数と同じ196枚、極めて高度な構造設計の中で接合されている。太陽の光をたっぷり浴びて、煌びやかに反射し、共鳴し合い、幻想的なモアレを創出して、まさに「光の広場」の象徴となって、明日の世界の未来を照らしている。

For the Osaka-Kansai Expo, we designed a public art piece to be placed in the outdoor space (Light Plaza) between the American and French pavilions as part of the "ART for EXPO 2025" project by curator Nanjo Fumio. The piece evokes images of hands clasped together and the Earth, and was created with the support of Stainless Steel Co., Ltd., also based in Kanazawa, as a prayer for the recovery of the Noto Peninsula earthquake that caused devastating damage in 2024. The public art piece, 2.4m high, 2m in diameter, and weighing 3t, is made of 196 3mm-thick aluminum metal plates, the same number as the number of countries in the world, which are joined together through structural ingenuity. The pieces reflect the sunlight brilliantly, resonating with each other and creating a fantastic moire pattern, making it the very symbol of the Light Plaza.
